Terms and Conditions of Use &
Privacy Policy
These terms and conditions are for Xplorers and Handcrafters alike. By abiding by the following, we hope to make your experience with us a caring and mutually beneficial one and conducive to supporting local.
Xplore Handcrafted (herein after referred to as XH)
Is a website and mobile app for both iOS and Android. By registering on the website, you agree that all information will copy across to the mobile app and that some functions may differ. By registering on the website, you accept these T&Cs.
Changing/Updating Terms
Xplore Handcrafted have the right to amend the T&Cs at any time as we see fit and any changes will come into effect immediately. Please ensure that you are up to date with the T&Cs at all times, should you be unsure, please refer to the document and if you are still unsure, communicate with us via the link.
New T&Cs are binding at all times.
Age Restrictions
All members must be 18 years of age to register.
Reviews
All reviews are approved by site administration before going live. Any negative reviews will be referred to the member for comments and the chance to rectify. Publishing the reviews is at the administrators discretion.
Undesirable Content
Any content that is deemed to be undesirable by XH will be removed. This will be communicated to the member and the reason behind it. The final decision is made by XH.
Any members selling alcohol related products have the responsibility of ensuring that the purchasers of their products are legally allowed to do so.
Communication
All communication between Xplorers and handcrafters is to be conducted in a respectful and honest means.
Liability
XH is not liable for any goods sold. All goods sold are solely between the member of XH and the purchaser. XH is not responsible for any cancellation of events that are listed, change of venue or address. All information is correct at the time of publishing.
All handcrafters who are entered into the database by XH are notified of this by email and are always given the option to be taken off. Once this is communicated, the handcrafted is deleted from the system with immediate effect.
What is handcrafted?
Anything listed on XH is deemed to be handcrafted. Handcrafted in this instance refers to anything that is not created in a factory or by means of a production line. Factory made components are acceptable but the essence of the item is to be handmade. Up-cycled and re-purposed items are considered handcrafted if the member has transformed the original by means of a handcrafted element.
Cost
There is no listing fee or commission payable on sales. There is an annual membership fee only. This fee may change periodically, but this will be communicated prior to the change. Any changes that are made, will only reflect in the renewal amount in the following cycle. There is a minimum payment cycle of 12 months, this is payable monthly or annually. If there is an increase, for those paying annually this will only reflect in the following years payment, for those paying monthly, this will increase in the month following the announcement.
Restrictions
There are no restrictions as to the links you are allowed to display on your XH profile. Links to your social media accounts are welcomed and encouraged. All sales and communication is between Xplorer and Handcrafter or vice-versa, XH is not involved in the sales process.
Closing Accounts
Any account can be suspended by XH after communicating with the member. Any member can terminate their account with immediate effect. No monies however will be refunded and the remaining annual amount, if any, remains payable.
Member Information
It is the sole responsibility of the member to ensure that all contact information is kept up-to-date. Links to event are the responsibility of the member only.
Privacy
XH does not pass your information to any third parties without your permission. Members are able to edit, add and delete any information/photos as often as they see fit with no further cost incurred.
QR Codes
Each member is issued with their own personal QR code. This code may be printed and used for the purposes of marketing e.g. but not limited to: business cards, at markets, on flyers. Once scanned by the Xplorer, they will be taken immediately to your profile, which can then be saved as a favourite.
Users Guide
This is provided by XH to ensure that the mobile app and website is used to its full potential. It will be up-dated as and when new features are added and may be printed and used for your personal/business use. XH will create a news event advising when there is an updated version.

The main page is the first page you see when starting up the app. It has the Xplore Handcrafter logo, an orange 'Find Crafters' button and a ‘Scan QR Code’ button. All pages have the bottom navigation buttons. The currently highlighted button indicates what page or part of the app you are currently looking at.
From here you can tap 'Find Crafters' to go to the search page.
You can tap the 'Events' button (with the calendar icon) to go to the Events page. you can tap the 'News' button (with the bullhorn icon) to go to the news page. You can tap the 'Map' button (with the map pin icon) to go to the map page and the ‘Favourites’ (star icon) to see your saved list of favourites.
Tapping on this allows you to scan either the handcrafters unique QR code or an events QR Code.
This will immediately take you to the event. Here you will see all the details that have been entered for that event as well as the list of handcrafters that will be represented
Once scanned you will be taken directly to the handcrafters page where you can save them as a favourite. Once saved as a favourite, the handcrafter can send you messages alerting you to sales, new opening, new range launches, next market day, give-aways, prize winners etc
This page is for you to find crafters by name and of any type.
You can use the orange 'select types' and 'select subtypes' buttons to narrow down your search to specific types of crafters. Note: you can select multiple types and sub-types.
If you do not select a search criteria, you can scroll through the alphabetical list.
You can also select the region of the country to search via the drop down. if you don't select any all will be included.
At the top of the page you can enter text to narrow down your search with words in a crafters name, description, or keywords.
You can tap on the search results to go to that crafters page.
The crafter page shows information about a specific crafter. It is split into a number of taps that can be seen near the top of the page.
The tabs can be navigated by tapping them, swiping the page, or pressing the orange arrow icons if they are available.
There is a ‘white star’ in the bottom right hand corner, tapping this ads the handcrafter to your favourites (star turns orange) tapping again with turn the star back to white and de-select.
This tab has general information about a crafter including their address, contact links (phone and email), payment options, services, and links to any of their Social Media pages.
This tab shows the crafters location on a map and has a button 'Directions' to launch your phones navigation system.
This tab shows information that a crafter has submitted about what they do, what inspires them etc.
This tab has a list of images the crafter has uploaded.
This tab has an average review display for the crafter, which includes the number of reviews made. It also has a list of the reviews and their rating and comment.
There is also a 'Submit new Review' button so you can add your own review for crafters. (These will not go live until they have been seen by admin)
This tab shows places where the crafter sells their goods, such as crafter markets or co-op crafter shops.
This page shows a calendar with craft related events hi-lighted as orange dots. You can tap on the individual days with events to get more information and a list of crafters included.
You can swipe left and right or use the buttons at the top to change the month and year.
Note: if there are multiple events on a selected day you will be presented with a dropdown to select the event you are interested in.
There is an orange ‘Directions’ button. Once tapped, this will open up Google Maps.
This page shows a list of news items related to crafters and crafting. you can tap on the items to get more information and a link in some cases.
The map page shows you a map with crafters and their locations as pins. When you zoom out the pins are grouped (they become circles with the number of grouped pins).
You can tap on the groups to zoom in and on the individual pins to see their crafter page. There is also a 'Create tour' button which will take you to the create tour pop-up.
The pop-up will give you a number of options for defining your tour.
The first is a drop-down where you can select the distance from the center to include crafters. Type and subType can be used to filter the crafter types. if left then all will be included.
If you select 'My Location' the tour will be centered on your current location.
if you select 'Select Location' then you will be able to use a map to scroll to a desired location. By default your location will be used.
You can cancel or create the tour when you are ready.
When you create the tour you will return to the map, but the tour points and the route will replace all the other crafter locations.
When you are in a tour the map page includes some extra controls.
There are two buttons, ‘Itinerary’ and ‘Map’
The bottom of the screen shows you the total distance that will be travelled as well as the total time it will take (bearing in mind that this does not include any time spent at each handcrafter).
There is a ‘share’ button that allows you to save and name the tour for further Xplorers to use in the future.
There is a ‘direction’ button that will take you to Google Maps to start your tour. (Each handcrafter will be deleted from the tour as you reach the destination)
Handcrafters are listed in the order of the tour. Each one includes the time it will take to reach them as well as the distance you will travel.
The ‘minus’ sign allows you to delete a handcrafter from the tour and the ‘up/down arrows’ allow you to change the order.
Tapping on the handcrafters name will take you to their profile (you can then save them as a favourite)
This shows the map starting with the first handcrafter/stop. Tapping on the handcrafters pin will take you to their profile.
Orange arrows ‘left’ and ‘right’ below the time will take you either to the next handcrafter on the tour or back to the previous.
Tapping the ‘map’ button will take you to the map screen, here are buttons to ‘resume’ your tour or ‘cancel’.
